Love in Families

The Spirit can be felt in the love of a family. Tonight I spent some time with a family about 20 minutes out of town. The home was full of relatives. There was Grandma and Grandpa on folding chairs in the kitchen. Mom and Dad sat on the couch with sons and daughters and in-law sons and daughters. The youngest little children played with the babies near the kitchen floor. One was so beautiful I kept mistaking him for a baby doll. The young single people sat outside on the back porch. Laughing and talking, some played pool too. There was food and discussion, the usual rambunctous events of an evening with extended family. Some of the kids wandered in and out of the house, playing games like, "yoda," with a PVC pipe stick, or combat games with just their bare hands. One little girl played a song on the piano over by the grandparents.
I went to church just the other day. I've read scriptures on my own and at the baseball game they prayed before the first man went to bat. In the car, I have a CD with music of hymns. Its fun to sing along and feels really good. However, with the thoughts of my heart tonight at the house, its easy to realize the actions of loved ones is paramount; to an understanding of what it means to put love into action. The Spirit can be felt in the love of a family.
