Okay so I'm going to write again after not doing so for two whole months! I can't believe it, but instead of writing blogs, I have been having fun traveling to Puerto Rico, going to work with a new schedule soon (yikes!) and just keeping up with regular life!
I know the economy is affecting a lot of people's lives right now. Lots of positions that become open are receiving applications in huge bouts. Some jobs are getting hundreds of applications over only a few days! It seems that everyone has a personal story of how the failing economy has affected them directly. Friends, neighbors, and even co-workers are ready to tell all their heart-wrenching difficulties now that we are in a slumping economic situation.
One thing that we all have to watch out for is not using the economy as an excuse for everything! Divorces, loss of home and job, inability to eat healthy, all seem to stem from a bad economic situation! Its funny how over time, I run across lots of people who want to blame all of their life problems on the economy.
I can't help but wonder, "weren't there always these problems, even before things got bad?" Although its rough out there in the work world right now, there are still opportunities and ideas ready to be attacked and mastered. In fact, the failing economy is holding out hope that people everywhere will keep using their minds and full faculties to solve problems, work hard at work, and come up with new solutions and ideas in all chosen careers!
At my work, the decreased work force has required all of us to help each other out, learn more managerial skills and find new ways to make use of our limited time and resources. I think its also helped us to value each others work and appreciate what it is that we have at this time of life: a great job where we are needed and valued more than ever before!

I totally agree. Things are bad, but it isn't an excuse to let everything in life slip! I hope you are doing well - I love you and miss you!
True, true!!
I just read your wise insight on the economy and how it affects our lives. I think you're right when you said that throughout time people have had to deal with these same issues, and what we're facing now isn't really something new. It is a good wake-up call to us all to value the things we have more, and to continue to find new and creative ways to manage our time and resources. A quality life is based on eternal principles like work, integrity and provident living. I hope I can remember to stand by these timeless values in these perilous times in which we live!
I'm glad you got recertified! woo-hoo! Miss ya!
